No, it is not, . There were rumors that it was, reason being that our president has moved our Bataan Day (April 9 - Legal Holiday ) to Monday (April 5) for the reason that vacationers would have a longer Holy Week weekend.

She is known of moving legal holidays to a Monday or Friday, so the public can have a longer non working weekend. Whatever reasons she has, we don't know....

Which are the best places to visit when i am in philippines?

The best places to visit in Philippines is Manila,especially Makati, Baguio, Cebu, Boracay and Iloilo.
Makati is where you can shop in Glorietta, SM shoemart where you can find nice and elegant dress, shoes and bags but not much big sizes) ,but if you want less price goods Divisoria and Baclaran have good garments too for ordinary wear and many specialty restaurants offering specialty foods such as German, Italian, Korean, Spanish,Japanese French ,American, Filipino and American Fastfood like McDonald's hamburger, Burger King , Wendy's, Pizza Hut
Other parts of Manila have nice malls too and specialty restaurant.You can watch film, bowling or other activities in the mall or disco dance in your night time, go to karaoke bar or listen to bands playing music. There is also Friday's and Hard Rock cafe in Manila.
Baguio also is a nice place to visit if you want a natural cool place where there is horseback riding,boating in one of the parks, restaurants served fresh food with fresh vegetables and hotels are not that much expensive.
Cebu offers also great shopping and fresh seafood restaurant and nice beaches.
Boracay if you want to experience a multicultural environment in a 20-minute ride boat to a white powder sand
beach and swim in a transparent clear water and partying at night and you can also try out different food everyday as well as taste the freshest tropical fruit juices like pineapple and mango juices instead of the usual Coke/Pepsi drinks, but here accomodation is more expensive but worth the stay.
Iloilo a place where everyday you can go to the malls(where you can eat fastfood) or eat in different restaurants serving Chinese foods and seafood restaurant like Tatoy's in Villa Beach . You can also visit the Museo Iloilo where you can see ancient artifacts. Don't forget to eat Lapaz Batchoy the pork noddles soup which can refresh you after a whole day going around.You can buy fresly baked and delicious baked goods. Enjoy and have fun this summer.
The reason Iloilo have good things to offer in terms of food and shopping is that there are many Ilonggos working abroad especially seamen , engineers and nurses and they come back to Iloilo for enjoying eating and going around with their hard earned money and be with their family.

i know we can have marrigement in the city hall.. but i have heard it's not good place for the wedding.. that's why i want to know where the nice place is... and how much is the cost for good place..

i heard that i should prepare 200,000pesos for the wedding(for 200visitors- food, flower, band, but without honeymoon cost) is it correct???? it's only the cost for the wedding ceremony.. i dont want to spend lot's of money..

I think PhP200,000 would be fair enough for a wedding ceremony and reception for 200 guests. Such amount is not too expensive and not too cheap either, just average, I should say. An average hotel that I know has a wedding package costing 55,000 pesos for 100 people alone, so 200 people would probably cost a little more than 100,000 pesos. The other 100,000 pesos would go to the wedding attire, invites, favors, transportation, flowers, photographers, and such, which are not included in wedding package.

Yes, there are plenty of romantic places to have a wedding in Baguio City. You can visit sulit.com.ph and search for suppliers for weddings. I think you can even find wedding planners there who would offer you a more complete wedding package, and maybe could save you some pesos. Mareeyah.com's wedding blog also has a directory of wedding suppliers from metro manila, but many of them are willing to handle out of town events...or with luck, they might refer you to Baguio suppliers that they might know. Also check out its article about having an inexpensive wedding. It has plenty of ideas on how to save.

kabayan beach resort.. stayed there last year for vacation. i lost the brochure i took from them. they have accomodations for 6-8 people. clean place. they have good beaches but i'll have to say the coral reefs aren't a pretty sight.. if you're checking in at kabayan, don't forget to try their halayang ube! fantastic!

I am doing something foolish I know; I have bought a 75 gallon tank with all the accessories and have no experience with aquariums with the exception of a 10 gallon I had 10 years ago. I am basically diving in to the aquarium hobby head first and blind folded.
In addition to reading several books, any advice, tips, ideas, or suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Including ideas for whats types of fish to use. I really prefer as many different species as possible as apposed to single species like Cichlids or Oscars. I like a variety.

Hoping to have a little surf trip to the Philippines in April. Differnet sites are telling me different things. Seems like the west coast of Luzon would be the best bet? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appriciated.

Aurora is a paradise for surfers, with its long coastline exposed to the Pacific Ocean. The sport was made famous in the Province by the classic film Apocalypse Now. Sabang Beach

Glassy right and left waves in the early mornings. Fun waves-not usually big, except during typhoons. A good site for beginning and novice surfers. The MIA Surf & Sports Resort, located by the beach, offers surfing lessons and rents out surfing, windsurfing and snorkeling equipment. They also offer tours to the best surfing, snorkeling and diving areas.

Cemento Beach

To the south of an old cement pier is a reef break just off a large rock. The area produces excellent quality right breakwaves over sharp reefs. It is one of the spots most frequented by Australian, European and Japanese surfers in Aurora. The sight is recommended mainly for experienced or professional surfers. Surfers are advised to wear wetsuits.

Charlie's Point

Famous for being the setting for the surfing scenes in Francis Ford Coppola's film, Apocalypse Now, Charlie's Point is known for medium-quality right and left breakwaves on sand/gravel bottom. The waves are best from December to January. The place is within walking distance from Baler town proper, north of Sabang Beach.

Lindy's Point

Further North of Sabang Beach, Lindy's Point is a newly discovered surfing spot. The place is within 15-minute walking distance from Bay's Inn.

The tall waves were "artificially" created when local government engineers opened the mouth of Baler Bay to the town river to prevent floods during the rainy seasons. The clashing waters coming from the river and the Pacific form strong, sharp breakwaves that provide an exhilarating high among experienced surfers.

I was Filipino citizen but now I got a British passport.Do I still need a US Visa?

I was a Filipino Citizen but this week I received my british passport.I am for Holiday in US by November for 16 days only. Thompson agency told me that all british passport issued after october 25, 2005 will need a US Visa. But when I phoned in US embassy to book myself for an interview, they told me that I don't need US visa anymore. All I need is just a waiver. Now I dont know what to do. I want to get a US visa to prevent this thing to happen to me but the US embassy won't allow me to have one because they said that I dont need a Visa anymore. And now I just had my british passport.
