Precisely Why Boracay Hotels Are Such A Necessary Portion Of Philippines Travel And Leisure

The Philippines is actually an intriguing region. It features a vast array of different cultures and is in a lot of respects very dissimilar to its Asian neighbors. We can often notice affects from the very commercialized West, yet private Filipino people are quite conventional and are dedicated to a family component above all else. This unique country has a lot more than seven thousand islands with Manila as its main city. Due to the diversity and also its favorable position, it is not surprising that tourism is among probably the most dominant market sectors.

It's now estimated that more than three million international vacationers check out the Philippines and its destinations in a given year. This represents a meteoric rise in a somewhat brief time. The visitor pattern is dispersed across the world which includes a significant influx out of the USA specifically.

There are numerous different tourist attractions, as you may imagine, spread throughout the 7000 isles, celebrating lifestyle, mythology, religion in addition to far more established events and activities. To indicate the diversity it is possible to decide to participate in the Flores de Mayo, a good Catholic celebration which persists an entire month on the one hand of this spectrum or decide to visit the World Pyro Olympics, a typical fixture and appeals to participants from around the world.

Probably one of the most well known places of interest in the area is obviously the city of Manila, that's also known as a very lively and thrilling location. Here you'll find some type of party virtually every single day and it's not surprising that the nightlife in this particular location is adored worldwide. Close behind Manila could be the town of Cebu, that's often chosen by visiting tourists for a platform to discover lots of the terrific island accommodations, mountain ranges, forests as well as sea splendors all around.

To acquire a genuine taste for the Philippines, for sultry destinations and also the beach life nevertheless you must visit Boracay. Regardless of its fairly small size, this place has grown to become an incredibly well known destination on its own. Boracay hotels have popped up around its world-famous white sand beach to appeal to all visitor needs. Certainly, this beach was voted one of the top 10 in the world and it is no wonder that among the better Boracay resorts have been set up to celebrate this.

To arrive at Boracay you will need to pick a selection of transport possibilities when you turn up at the official gateway of Manila. The island is approximately 200 miles towards the south and is just off the tip of one of the larger island destinations in the district, Panay. Should you have in the mind's eye a vision of any exotic beach somewhere, the probability is that it's Boracay, since you're less likely to discover anyplace which is more typical of this kind of pleasant getaway.

Should you be considering a vacation, all you have to do should be to pick from a range of Boracay accommodation and kick back and take it easy. You will discover that the island folks are really used to helping a person to achieve this state of mind and it is little wonder that first-time guests come back again and again.

Now' s The Time To Book Your Flight to Manila and Discover the Exotic Philippines

If you're planning to visit the Philippines, now's the time to go. The period between January and April is the best time to explore the exotic islands due to the dry season. Flights to Manila are cheap and plentiful, so if you've been putting off taking that family trip, or traveling for work, put it off no longer.

Begin your trip planning by searching for cheap flights to Manila, the country's capital and gateway for reaching other, smaller islands. You will typically get the best flight deals when purchasing separate tickets to Manila, followed by your final destination, be it Cebu or elsewhere. Buying split tickets takes advantage of very competitive international airfares for the Manila destination, while other destinations tend to be significantly more expensive when buying as part of the international trip. Hence it is more frugal to book separately.

If you plan to stop in Manila for a few days here are some sightseeing tips. The best places to visit outside the sprawling city's popular monuments are the surrounding beaches. Cars and drivers are cheap and plentiful, so there's no excuse not to discover all that's out there. And as far as natural beauty is concerned there's a lot out there. Start by heading south to a beach called Anilao in the Calumpang Peninsula not far from Batangas. Here you can hire your own boat, snorkel, scuba dive in pristine waters and explore the nearby islands. Try to avoid the weekends as it tends to get crowded here.

If you prefer more quite beaches, the resorts of the Cavite area are a must. This place is just 10 miles south of the Manila city center. Caylabne is stunning with its pristine stretches of white sand and turquoise waters.

Don't have the time to head out of town? Well, you're in luck. Batangas, San Juan, Tali, Zambales and Bataan, are all great beaches within easy reach from Manila.

For a change od pace, you can also catch one of the regular boats from Manila's docks and head to Corregidor Island, where you can check out the many relics from the World War II, including military buildings and gun emplacements as well as the Corregidor Lighthouse,.

Taal at just one hour's drive from Manila is an important heritage town. Here you will find several interesting museums and historical buildings, including the largest Catholic church in Asica, Basilica de San Martin de Tours which stands 96 meters tall and 45 meters wide. Another possibility, head to the nearby Tagaytay a short distance south from the city. The Taal Lake is pretty impressive with the backdrop of the Taal Volcano and its surrounding verdant scenery. There are also some interesting landmarks and monuments to visit, such as the Palace in the Sky, the Mabini Shrine, the Casa de Segunda Katigbak, the Punta de Santiago Lighthouse and the Marcela N. Agoncillo.

Along with Manila flights you may consider checking domestic flights to Baguio, known as Manila's summer capital. You can get to Baguio in 45 minutes by plane vs. 5 hours by car. This trip to the north will show you the diversity of beauty here, from the tropical beaches to the mountainous rainforest of the north. The forest here is so dense, it's hard to believe this is an island. So pack some trail shoes and head out to the Mines View Park. . The trails are imcredible., the air is rich, the wildlife colorful.

If you are tight with time or money you can always explore the nearby Tagaytay a short distance south from the city. The Taal Lake is an impressive site, with the backdrop of the Taal Volcano and its surrounding verdant scenery. There are also some interesting landmarks and monuments to visit, such as the Palace in the Sky, the Mabini Shrine, the Casa de Segunda Katigbak, the Punta de Santiago Lighthouse and the Marcela N. Agoncillo.

Most of us think of Manila in terms of work, but really there is so much to do here. Even if  it's work you're going for, there's always enough time in the day to discover beauty. Don't you think?

Go on, book your flight to Manila and start discovering the beauty of the Philippines.

Puerto Galera Philippines Resorts

puerto galera philippines resorts_2"puerto galera philippines resorts"
whats the best resort at puerto galera island philippines for couples trying to save their marriage?

preferably clean,tranquil n memorable

No no no. Don't go to Puerto Galera if you're trying to save your marriage. It's neither clean, tranquil nor memorable. Think poor man's Boracay. There are too many people, the bars are full at night, music blaring, prostitutes milling about, and young women all around displaying their wares. It's great for a barkada gimik but is not recommended for a romantic vacation for couples.

If cost is not a consideration, I suggest you go to Palawan. It's quiet, relaxing, not too crowded and isolated. You can stay at an all inclusive resort for some sort of a second honeymoon. There are several activities and a lot if islands to see so I'm sure your husband will enjoy the experience with you. If you want to do it in a cheaper way, you can stay in one of the resorts on mainland or in town and just hire a banca to go island hopping. Some are as cheap as P700-1000 per room per night.

Siargao is also a beautiful destination. If you want to save on airfare, you can go to San Juan. I prefer it to Puerto Galera. There are several good resorts like Laiya and La Luz.

Let me know if you have questions. It's great that you're making an effort. I wish you the best of luck :).

Reasons Why Mutual Fund is the Best Venture for OFW?

When I came back to Philippines from South Korea last January 2010, I made it sure that I can start a mutual fund account as one of my investment for working abroad. I want my money to work for me just what financial mentor is teaching like Robert Kiyosaki and Francisco Colayco. In fact, before I went on holiday at that time and some months before, I'm studying which mutual fund I will buy. I believe mutual fund is one great venture for OFW.

So I researched in the internet about the accomplishment of mutual funds in the Philippines. I go over blogs often talking with mutual funds so I will have sufficient knowledge and tactics in investing in it. I became interested to First Metro Assets Management, Inc. (FAMI) and selected it because it is reinforced by Metrobank which I believe has a reliable management; it has low NAVPS (net asset value per share) and good return based on their previous achievement in the past 4 years.

When I opened my account in FAMI, I went to their company in PSBank building along Paseo de Roxas Avenue in Makati. I prepared all the requirements which I obtained from their website. It took only less than 30 minutes for the application to be handled and approved. There are no hassles and the customer agent was really nice. She helped me to choose which kind of mutual fund appropriate for my investment goals.

In fact, when you applied for FAMI mutual fund account, you will be given a group of questionnaires and based on your answers, the customer agent will check your score with matching type of mutual fund suited for you. You can also inquire mutual fund in FAMI even if you're overseas, just go over to their website for additional information: fami.com.ph

I only spent P10, 000 pesos in January 2010 and so far as of this writing, the earnings is at 15% or equivalent to P1, 500. I didn't do anything at all just open a mutual fund account and invest my money on it and now there's a P1,500 clean profit after 6 months. Imagine about it, supposed I invested P100, 000, how much is my current earnings at 15% return percentage. It's P15, 000. That's more excellent profit than savings account or time deposit.

The nice thing about investing in mutual funds is that you invest once and you'll just anticipate for it to build up its NAVPS. You can't manage it because only the mutual fund administrator has the access to your funds. He's the one that will purchase or sell shares of stocks, bonds or other securities. Investing in mutual fund particularly on equity fund is just like investing in stock market indirectly.

A word of suggestion: learn first before you entrust in mutual fund, and money invested in mutual fund is NOT accounted for by insurance from PDIC.

Spanish Manila was founded in June 24, 1571 by three conquistadors: Martín de Goiti, Juan de Salcedo and Miguel López de Legazpi. In 1867, the Spanish Government of the Philippines established the municipalities and territories south of the District of Morong in Nueva Ecija, north of the Province of Tondo and Imperial Manila, and isolated these from their mother province of Nueva Ecija. The government created the Province of Manila composed of the Province of Tondo to the south and the isolated territories of Nueva Ecija to the north. The parts of Tondo were Navotas, Malabon, and Caloocan; the parts of Nueva Ecija were Mariquina, Balintawak, Caloocan, Pasig, San Felipe Neri (presently called Mandaluyong), Las Piñas, what had been known as Parañaque, and Muntinlupa. The capital of the Province was Intramuros, then itself called and considered to be Manila, a walled city located along the banks of the Pasig River and on the shore of Manila Bay.

During the Philippine Revolution the Province of Manila was the 8th and last Province to revolt against Spain paving the establishment of the Federated Philippine Republics (composed of Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Laguna, Batangas, Cavite and Manila). The Province of Manila remained in existence until 1901, when its territory was subdivided by the Americans.

In 1901, the Philippine Assembly created the City of Manila composed of the municipalities of Ermita, Intramuros or the Imperial City of Manila, Tondo, Santa Cruz, Sta. Ana, San Nicolas, San Miguel, Paco, Port Area, Pandacan, Sampaloc, Quiapo, Binondo, Malate, Sta. Mesa and Singalong. The municipalities of Caloocan, Marikina, Pasig, Parañaque, Malabon, Navotas, San Juan, Makati, Mandaluyong (San Felipe Neri), Las Piñas, Muntinglupa and Taguig-Pateros were incorporated into a new province named Rizal, the capital of which was Pasig.

In 1941 with the onset of World War II, President Manuel L. Quezon created the City of Greater Manila as an emergency measure, merging the city and municipal governments of Manila, Quezon City, San Juan del Monte, Caloocan, etc. and appointed Jorge Vargas as mayor. Existing mayors of the included cities and municipalities served as vice-mayors for their areas. This was in order to ensure Vargas, who was Quezon's principal lieutenant for administrative matters, would have a position of authority that would be recognized under international military law. There were doubts if the Japanese Imperial Army poised to occupy Manila would recognize the authorities of members of the Quezon cabinet. The City of Greater Manila was abolished by the Japanese with the formation of the Philippine Executive Commission to govern the occupied regions of the country. As an administrative concept, however, the City of Greater Manila served as a model for Metro Manila and the position of Metro Manila governor established during the Marcos administration.

In 1975, President Ferdinand Marcos issued Presidential Decree 824, creating the Metropolitan Manila Area. The Metropolitan Manila Commission was created to administer the emerging metropolis. Marcos appointed his wife Imelda Marcos as governor of Metro Manila.

In 1986, after a major government reorganization, President Corazon Aquino issued Executive Order No. 392 and changed the structure of the Metropolitan Manila Commission and renamed it to the Metropolitan Manila Authority. Metro Manila Mayors chose from themselves as chair of the agency.

In 1995, through Republic Act 7924, Metro Manila Authority was reorganized and became the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. The chair of the agency is appointed by the President and should not have a concurrent elected position such as mayor.

Philippine Tourism Website

philippine tourism website"philippine tourism website"
What is the best Philippine Tourism Website?

Currently, what do you think is the best Philippine Tourism Website out there and why?

If you believe that all the current ones are not that good what do you suggest should be done & how can people (especially Filipinos) be proactive in promoting & helping out?

The http://www.tourism.gov.ph/ is good; but, the Tourism Department can do better by updating it quarterly or biannually.

Other good tourism sites are the Philippines' provincial and city websites where each province, town or city feature their main tourist attractions.

There are also websites created by volunteers who promote their locality's main and not so popular attractions.

Here are some websites.

http://www.palawantourism.com/
http://www.baguio.gov.ph/
http://www.gobaguio.com/
http://www.batangasnow.com/
http://www.wayblima.com/cebu-visitors-guide.shtml

Add:

Agree with Tina and Jan-na on Ivan Henares and wayspoint.

There are also other sites to check out.

http://www.wowparadisephilippines.com/
http://www.eparadisephilippines.com/
http://inogami.com/paradise-philippines/about-paradise-philippines/

Still, the most effective way to promote our country is by word of mouth; and, how we conduct ourselves, as Filipinos, at home and in other countries.

BTW, Boracay made it again to Trip Advisor's Top Ten Beac Destinations.

Philippines: Finest Travel And Vacation Destination

The Philippines is the second largest archipelago in the world, after Indonesia, and enjoys a healthy tropical climate. The charm and beauty of the Philippines has always mesmerized travelers and vacationers. The people in the Philippines are very friendly and hospitable, which makes travel and vacation more enjoyable.

In many parts of the Philippines, access to mobile Telephony & wireless Internet and to Geriatric Medical Care (in Tertiary-level Hospitals around Metro Manila) have both become readily available. The archipelago is also considered as one of the top biodiversity hotspots in the world, with more species crammed and concentrated in one areas. Tourists plays an important role to the Philippine economy.

The Rice Terraces:

The rice terraces were carved out of mountains thousands of years ago and by far the most extensive of its kind in the world (longer and bigger than those in Indonesia) with sophisticated irrigation and engineering that was unthinkable during the time it was built. The rice terraces cover 4,000 square miles (10,000 km squared ) of mountainside. It is, in fact , a UNESCO world heritage and is said to be the 8th wonder of the world.

Beaches and Dive Sites:

The best dive sites in the Philippines are located in Anilao, Boracay, Malapascua, Apo Island, Balicasag, Pamilacan, Tubbataha, Palawan, and Puerto Galera.

The Hundred Islands, also located in the Northern Philippines, is a group of more that 400 islets with coral reefs surrounding the islets.

Beaches in Bohol island are considered as best of the world. In fact, this region is used as 'setting' for film (both local and foreign).

Foods:

At times fresh seafood is served with exotic sauces and spices. Apart from a few exceptions, such as Bicol and the Muslim areas of the south, the seasoning is not spicy.

Coconut is used to make desserts such as pudding, which is made of ground rice, sugar, and coconut milk and baked in the oven. The diet of poor families is generally rice, fish, and vegetables, combined with starchy snacks. Rice is served with almost all meals, as it is their staple food.

Events:

The flower season of Baguio- described as the summer capital of the Philippines because of its perennially cool weather-is something to look forward to. Christmas vacations will give you ample time to celebrate the festival with great enthusiasm. Manila's vibrant party scene rivals those of Shanghai and the nightlife is amongst the underrated in the world with the Filipinos penchant for parties and fiestas.

Shopping:

The convenience of Philippine online shopping will convince you that you have found the best way to shop. Prices of the goods for Philippine bargains are comparable to the ones in Thailand and in China. Shopping is one of the things tourists love about the Philippines.

Beach Resort In Palawan

This coming Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 we'll be in Puerto Princesa, Palawan?

I would just like to ask if you could give us ideas on which CHEAP resort are available in the place (Puerto Princesa only) since this is our first time to travel here. Better, if you could give us the name of the resort, site and the rates. We're planning to have our whole stay in Puerto Pension since it's cheap but nice place and also offers free continental breakfast. All we ever think of now are the beach resorts and activities available in the said area without us traveling another 2 hours from our hotel. Itinerary would be good too if you have it though. Thank you.

I was in Puerto Princesa last June and we stayed at Puerto Pension. Please see below for my detailed review of the place, complete with pictures.

If you want to have the most of the place, you really have to roam around. Only restaurants are near Puerto Pension as well as city landmarks, like the church. If you want to go to the Underground River or go island hopping in Honda Bay, you really have to travel 2 hours from Puerto Pension. It's worth the travel time, believe me.

Here's a very detailed itinerary - places to go, restaurants to dine in etc.

Thailand Scuba Diving Vacation

Thailand is sandwiched between The Gulf of Thailand on its eastern coastline and the vast expanse of the Andaman Sea on its western coast. It is in these body of waters that scuba divers can explore the marine life of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean without having to cross continents.

The waters in Thailand have one of the richest and diverse marine life in the world because conditions here for coral growth is almost perfect with an average temperature of 28C all year round and fantastic underwater visibility.

Because of these almost ideal scuba diving conditions and attractions, the scuba diving industry in Thailand is thriving robustly with the proliferation of first class scuba diving facilities, services and diving schools.

When you throw in what the tourist industry has to offer in Thailand such as fantastic entertainment, a spread of accommodations, hotels and resorts for every budget and Thailand's renowned delightful cuisines, you can be assured of an enjoyable scuba diving vacation.

The Gulf of Thailand has hundreds of islands on its 1,840km (1,143 miles) long coast. The gulf is a shallow bowl shaped body of water separated from the South China Sea by a pair of underwater ridges that extend from Vietnam on one side and Malaysia to the other.

The sea bed bottom here is mostly mud mixed with sand and shells. Corals are usually found around the fringes of the gulf islands. There are several rivers in the north bringing enough sediment and freshwater to inhibit coral growth until to the south or the eastern side of the Gulf of Thailand.

The underwater scenery in the gulf is perhaps not as visually appealing as those of the Andaman Sea as it has slightly less variety of marine life. Marine parks such as the Ang Thong Marine Park include spectacularly formed limestone islands with lush rainforest covering them and many of these islands are actually uninhabited.

World famous resorts of Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui offer excellent scuba diving facilities as well as other reacreations and entertaiment.

The Andaman Sea was already thriving thousands of years ago with Chinese, European, Thai and Indian trading vessels plying its waters. Today, the Andaman Sea is more of a playground for dive boats and sailing yachts rather than for trading vessels.

One of the better known playgrounds for divers in the Andaman and is often rated amongst the top scuba diving destinations in the world are the Similan Islands. Divers can explore Similan, the Surin Islands and the Mergui Archipelago in liveaboard diving cruises.

Thailand's Andaman Sea stretches 870km (541 miles) from Tarutao National Park on the border of Malaysia to the Surin Islands on the border of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). It is part of the Indian Ocean and is separated from the Bay of Bengal by the Andaman-Nicobar Ridge. Quaint formations of granite outcrops can be senn in the Surin and Similan Islands.

Other island groups such as Koh Phi Phi are shaped by massive limestone and calcium carbonates since prehistoric time.

The only problem when you travel to Thailand for scuba diving is where to start your diving vacation since there are so many excellent dive spots to choose from and you will be spoilt for choice.

Condotel Investments in the Philippines

Beth Collingz of PLC International said buyers are investors in hotel-condos, a real estate product that combines the flexibility of ownership of a condo in a hotel setting. Popular in the United States, Europe and the Middle East, hotel-condos are just starting to pop up in the Philippines for the first time.

Unlike simple condominiums -- which owners can use as they please -- hotel-condo units are both investment and residential units that can be used by their owners for up to 30 days per year. The plus is that the owners can invest in real estate while having access to hotel amenities like a spa, gym, room services. The remaining time, the units' owners return the rooms to a rentable pool run by the hotel. As the units are rented out, the owners receive a split of the income. Alternatively, unit owners can live permanently in their suites and enjoy hotel living 365 days a year.

One such project recently announced, with Pacific Concord Properties Inc -- among the first developers to do a hotel-condo in Metro Manila -- submitting plans to build a 42-story twin high-rise at Shaw Boulevard, will be called Lancaster The Atrium.

The Lancaster Atrium is a twin tower development that sits on a common podium with the Lancaster Suites Tower I, which was sold out in less than 18 months and is part of its hotel-condo program.

Units at Lancaster The Atrium Tower A are priced at $38,395 to $355,000 -- for sizes ranging from 300 square feet to 1,350 square feet

Collingz, Marketing director for PLC International Marketing Networks, which is exclusively marketing the Lancaster Suites and Lancaster The Atrium Hotel Condominiums in Metro Manila, said condotels started appearing on the market following PCPI's launch of the Lancaster Suites back in 2004. We see a marked increase of interest from buyers who live Europe as well as from corporations looking to invest in Philippine real estate. There have been a plethora of residential properties coming on the market, but not many Condo Hotel developments adding that, in the currently hot Philippine real estate market no one felt the need to try out a product that had not been tested in the country before."

The market for investment properties has shifted in part because of a booming demand for hotel rooms in Metro Manila and a weak dollar internationally. On a broader scale, baby boomers are retiring and buying second and third homes, and interest in real estate as an investment remains strong, when it comes to the market for hotel-condos, the Lancaster project is attracting international customers familiar with this type of investment opportunity. Collingz said

The Lancaster Atrium Tower A development will have 400 hotel-condo rooms and suites, a spa, swimming pool, business center, its own mini mall, shops and convenience stores and several restaurants. The project, located atop a common podium with Lancaster Suites Tower I is only one block from the Ortigas Center, Shangri-La Mall, Edsa Plaza Hotel and SM Megal Mall, will continue construction of its superstructure this year having already completed foundation works and put in place 5-levels of basement parking.

While it is possible to secure easy no prequalification, no down payment 6 year no interest payment plans for the Lancaster Atrium suites, Collingz said that most buyers purchase these properties with a small down payment of some 30% to reduce the monthly payments to around $400 a month for a Studio unit or take advantage of a 20% discount for outright cash purchases.

Unsurprisingly the hotel-condo investment trend in the Philippines will accelerate -- from Metro Manila to other major metropolitan hubs such as Cebu. PCPI's Lancaster Cebu development is already sold out with Condotel operations will commence this March.

PCPI has appointed Lancaster Hotels, Land and Properties, Inc (LHLPI) to oversee the operations, sales and marketing, and asset management of the condotel. Guided with a clear goal of maximizing profitability, LHLPI will spearhead the management of the condotel as well as that of the entire condominium building.

Collingz said that given the expertise of the hotel management team coupled with the prime location of the Lancaster condotels, we foresee a profitable operation in the years to come thereby ensuring maximum return on investment.

Statistics from the Department of Tourism indicate that the number of tourist arrivals to the Philippines has been consistently growing by double digit percentages for the past three years. In 2005, of the 2.3 million tourist arrivals, 1.7 million visited Cebu. In fact, an additional 40,000 hotel rooms are needed to accommodate the expected five million tourist arrivals by 2010.

The Lancaster brand of Condotel developments further validate the increasing demand for hotel rooms which make us more confident that our market and financial projections will be achieved said Collingz

philippine hotel/resort salary?

does anybody know where i could get information to how much the salary is if i work at a hotel/resort in the philippines..?
i want to apply for a job at some big/fancy hotel in manila or cebu as a cook. i just want to know if its worth it..
thank you!
or if anybody works there right now or knows someone who does.. again thanks!

The hotel/resort industry is largely operated by the private sector and therefore, its salary scale is not regulated by the government. Salaries of employees are not readily available in the Internet unless you dig into the annual reports of these corporations. Apparently, none of us here work as a cook in any hotel in Manila or Cebu so I'm afraid we can't give you the information you're looking for. So just go ahead and apply. It could be to your liking. Good luck.

Family Resort Philippines

family resort philippines_3"family resort philippines"
Any suggestion on a perfect family getaway in Philippines?

My husband likes sport fishing..i like to surprise him with a family getaway near Manila Philippines, any suggestion of a place or resort where we can spend the weekend together with freshwater bass fishing? thanks

Near Manila, i would suggest Island Cove (Formerly, Covelandia) in Cavite. It has fishing village, pool, minigolf, bowling, zoo, ktv. Entrance is amazingly cheap. P100/head and consumable at that! You can not bring in food but it has restos and mini-stores inside.

If you dont mind the drive, <3 hour drive from Balintawak, SMBA Subic is very nice too :) It has a fishing village, ocean park, safari and lotsa nice beaches!

Or if you're targeting February, you might want to sked it to coincide with the HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL in Clark. Be there at 6am for the take off. Then, off to the beach. Then, be back again around 5pm for the landing of the Hot Air Balloons.

Enjoy! ;)

Hotels In Makati City Philippines

ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND ARE LOOKING TO GET A HOTEL OR CONDO FOR A MONTH IN THE PHILIPPINES?

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF CHEAP CONDOS OR HOTELS IN MAKATI CITY FROM MARCH 24 TO APRIL 20

For a one month stay, I would advise you to book a serviced apartment/hotel. The Somerset has several of these in different locations, but all are quite near the malls and the restaurant row.

They have very good long-stay rates. My friends as well as mid-level regional officers (of the network where the company I retired from is attached) stay in any of the Somerset facilities when in town for 2 weeks or more.

Look up Somerset Salcedo, Somerset Olympia, and Somerset Millennium here:

Traveling on a Budget: Indulging and Surviving in Makati, Philippines

Considered as the Philippines' financial and commercial hub, and home of first-class shopping malls, Makati City is truly one remarkable attraction not to miss out on. Yet as easy as it seems to get lost in such elegance, it is also that easy to lose one's pocket money within this charming cosmopolitan city. Here are simple tips on how to best experience the city if you're a traveler on a budget.

Ayala Center is known for its premier shopping destinations, aside from their world-renowned brands and restaurants. Their carefully crafted architecture with plush interiors wraps you in an inviting and soothing ambience that completes a satisfying shopping experience. But if you're up for such refreshing environment without being distracted by all the price tags, take a stroll down Greenbelt Park. The small park at the center of the Greenbelt Malls in Ayala Center boasts of landscaped gardens, an artificial duck pond and stream, and a lovely chapel. It's where one can lounge around and enjoy the exquisite scenery.

Getting around the city also opens one to a lot of choices other than the usual cab ride. Buses and jeepneys travel all across Makati to get you from one point to another without spending too much. And if you really do not want to spend at all, you may want to try riding the notable e-jeepneys. Smaller than the typical jeepney and impressively running solely on electricity, these e-jeepneys travel on designated routes along Ayala Center and are actually free of charge. Of course, one is always welcome to donate, at his own discretion, as he takes a ride.

Lastly, though the metropolis is surrounded by luxurious 5-star hotels that can shower you with comforts beyond your dreams, these can also drown you in bills beyond imagination. There are a great number of budget hotels in Makati providing simple accommodations. If all you need is comfortable and safe lodgings after a long day of exploring, you may want to try these affordable options. Some hotels such as Makati International Inns Incorporated offer promos on relaxing rooms for even more reasonable rates.

Asia Holidays

asia holidays"asia holidays"
Where to go, where not to go! Any suggestions on places to go for a honeymoon in South Asia. 2month holiday!?

Thailand and Bail are the two countries we are visiting. I have been to Bali previously however, have never been to Thailand. Any suggestions on countries to visit and things to do will be much appreciated.

I'd recommend you to visit Phuket, if you are coming to Thailand. Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand, and there are several excellent beaches. The waters are usually clear and very good for diving..

As long as you avoid the usually crowded Patong and Karon beaches on the west coast, you can easily find remote beaches for walking, jogging, or just relaxing.

Two of the main attractions near Phuket are the Phi Phi Islands and the Phang Nga Bay, with the so-called James Bond Island. The name comes from The Bond film "Man with The Golden Gun" which was partly filmed on this small island. There is a good choice of organized day trips from Phuket to both the Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay.

Ocean activities are the biggest draw for tourists in Phuket. Courses and equipment are available at most major beaches for scuba diving, Scuba diving as well as snorkeling in the lagoons with coral reefs. You can find plenty of good dive sites all around Phuket (shark point, anemone reef, etc.) but there are some world class dive sites you don’t want to miss for any reason. You can join a 5 days live aboard to the Similan Islands , a natural reserve where you can spot wales sharks and manta rays. There is also the number one spot in the Andaman sea, Hin Daeng , situated just few hours of speed boat from Phuket. It is important to notice than coral reefs were left mostly untouched by the 2004 tsunami.

You can rent wind surfboards, dinghies, canoes and yachts from many locations for those interested in boating. For a more colorful adventure you can explore the limestone caverns of Phang Nga Bay on guided tours in inflatable canoes.

While scuba diving is probably one of the most popular activities in Phuket, the island also offers many opportunities for more land-oriented outdoor activities such as mountain biking through the western range of the island. Guided horseback tours are also a relaxing way to go sightseeing. Phuket also has a few beautiful golf courses that were built on the remains of the tin mines that first brought industry to the island.

Patong Bay Garden Resot is great value for money and is suitable for a couple looking for a very romantic place to stay or likewise its suitable for a family because of the nice pool and close proximity to the beach! also, good location for shopping and the night life on Bangla Road. Turn right out of the hotel and go down past Subway, there is a massage place that sits behind where you book tours. This place does the best foot massage, you'll find it because they are always busy.

The rooms are quite large and have a nice balcony, with more than half overlooking the pool or beach. The buffet breakfast was great and they had an amazing assortment of food to choose from including bacon, eggs, sausages and fresh fruit and danishes, plus heaps more! The staff were very friendly and unobtrusive.

Book the Phuket Fanta Sea dinner and show, get the gold seats. You will not be disappointed, this is better than most Vegas shows. Incredible!

Philippine Package

Ofw's Methods Of Sending Gifts To The Philippines

There are many ways for an overseas Filipino to send gifts Philippines. One is through the traditional method while the other is through current trends. This is through the use of Balikbayan boxes and online shops. The reason why I called the use of Balikbayan boxes the traditional method is because of its significance at the time in which the only way to send gifts Philippines is through packages sent by overseas Filipino workers, or more commonly known as OFWs.
Although sending remittances or money to their loved ones and family in the Philippines is the reason why Filipinos would work abroad, sending gifts and other items have also become a very popular trends for most OFWs through packages. However, the use of a Balikbayan box became popular in the past because of its efficiency compared to sending a simple package. So what is the difference between a Balikbayan box from a typical package?
There isn't anything very special with a Balikbayan box, just a simple ubiquitous, over-sized boxes typically used to contain large items such as a television set. However, the advantage of this box compared with other packages is with its big size. Having a big size means allowing an OFW to send multiple items from gifts such as clothes, perfumes, shoes, electronics, toys to household items such as toiletries, small appliances, and non-perishable food.
The main advantage of using Balikbayan boxes compared to a typical package is its economic benefits. If the items were sent individually or in smaller boxes through postal services, the cost could be significant. However, the only disadvantage of using these boxes is its long transit typically by sea freighters, typically taking several weeks to 1 month, although the use of air freighters could provide faster transit time.
Because of its drawback, online shops became very popular among OFWs wanting to quickly send their gifts Philippines. The advantage of using this technology is its convenience as well as with its ease, though it may require skills to operate an online shop. Its also known for its fast delivery service, if the online shop is based in the Philippines. Another advantage is sending items which were impossible through packages such as a flower. Popular online flower shops today that offer online flower delivery are MyFlowerDepot.
However, the only disadvantage of online shops, particularly from those based in the Philippines, is its limited items. This is because Philippine-based online shops could only provide items which are available in the Philippines. This is also the reason why OFWs still use Balikbayan boxes to send imported gifts back to the Philippines. For more information about gifts Philippines visit to our site at http://www.myflowerdepot.com

The Best Philippines Recipes on a Philippines Holiday

Coming to the Philippines allows you to enjoy the tropical country in many ways. For starters, your visit to this archipelago cannot be complete without hitting the beach. If you love the city, go to Manila or perhaps Cebu and cool down and enjoy its enormous malls that have almost everything you need from designer clothes and bag to grocery or watch a great movie at the cinema.

If there is one thing that Filipinos love to do, it is eating! They love having get-together's and feast over the exotic dishes ranging from fresh seafood to delightful meat recipes. For many years, the Philippines have been known to not only be a tourist destination but a great place to enjoy a wide variety of food. Going over a brief view of the country's history, it has been influenced by many cultures which the people have been influenced and has shaped the culture in many ways and this includes cooking.

From the Far East to the Malayo-Polynesian, Spanish, American, Japanese and Arabian, the Filipinos have creatively found ways to incorporate their techniques to come up with distinctly Filipino dishes. And because of this, the recipes here are so plenty but if you are looking for purely "Pinoy" food, you won't run out of these. You will find that meals here are prepared in many ways from raw to roasted, deep fried and lots more.

Despite the country moving towards modernization, the people has still managed to make sure that their culture stays alive. The recipes that people use in their homes happen to be passed from their elders to the present generation. As the years pass by, the recipes have stayed the same while some tend to modify it to make it more modern but the essence of the dish still stays the same.

Whichever part of the country you go to, every region and province have a specialty to boast. If you head to be Bicol, you will enjoy the hot and spicy dishes that they cook. They love to use coconut milk in their dishes to add more flavor and a famous recipe they have is "Bicol Express". The Ilocanos are engrossed with cooking dishes that have lots of vegetables such as the "Pinakbet". "Chicken Inasal" is a specialty of the Ilonggos. Basically, rice is always present in most restaurants. Even the rice here come in various forms, there's plain rice, java, garlic, fried rice and lots more!

There are lots of other Pinoy dishes here that should be tasted such as the "Sinigang" which is actually a sour soup that can have shrimp, pork or fish in it. A very Filipino cooking recipe is the "Adobo" which can either be of chicken meat, pork or a mix of both. During special occasions, the "Lechon Baboy" is served or in English, "Roasted Pig". They also love food that is grilled such as pork barbecue and "Liempo" which is grilled pork belly dipped with soy sauce filled with spices.

Beach Resorts In Bohol

Bohol Beach Resorts - Guide to the Best Panglao Island Resorts

Guide to picking Bohol Beach Resorts in Panglao Island

There are numerous resorts in Bohol mainly in Panglao Island beside Bohol mainland. There are several areas in Panglao Island where these are located.

Alona Beach, the most popular albeit 'touristy' area, is a 1 kilometer long white sand beach, where you can find Amorita, Alona Tropical, Alona Pyramid, Golden Palm, Alona Kew, Isis Bungalows, and other seafront accommodations. Restaurants and resorts in Alona are close together. The beach is not as clean or clear as Bolod area but it is still a great white sand beach. From here you may go diving or dolphin watching in Balicasag Island Marine sanctuary or the many dive spots nearby. Rates range from PhP 2000-7000+ per room, good for two.

Bolod Beach area, meanwhile, is a quieter 1.5 kilometer long white sand beach, home to Amarela, Bohol Beach Club, Whites and Greens, Dumaluan, and the upscale Eskaya Resort and Spa. Resorts are far from each other unlike those in Alona beach. Bolod beach is great for swimming and snorkling as the waters are clean, clear and the sand is very fine. It also has a great sunrise. It is a jumpoff point to Pamilacan Island, playground of the dolphins. Resort rates also range from PhP 2000 - 7000+ per room, good for two.

Other areas include Danao area which is east of Alona where you can find Linaw Beach and Dauis area where you can find Panglao Island Nature Resort or Bohol Sherwood Dive Resort. Bohol resorts in Dauis area are usually located on cliffside properties with great overlooking views of the sea. However, the beaches in the area are smaller compared to those in Bolod or Alona. Some resorts in the area, except for Panglao island Nature, do not have a sandy beach but just straight access to the sea.

Here are some a list of the top choices for Budget, Midpriced and Luxury Beach Resorts in Panglao Island, Bohol:

Budget - Whites and Greens, Alona Tropical, or Isis Bungalows. Rooms from PhP 2000 per night (for two)

Midpriced - Amarela (a cozy and homey boutique resort with hardwood furnishings). From PhP 5,500 per night (for two)

Luxury- Panglao Island Nature and Amorita Resort. From PhP 7000+ per night (for two).

Be sure to pick the best Bohol Resort for your next trip to the island!

Philippines Diving Resort

Liquid Resort - A Divers Paradise in Dauin

The Philippines has over 7000 individual islands teeming with wildlife. The Philippine Islands offer to the budding back packer a second to non holliday experience.  While it is true we could talk for hours about the history of the Philippines. We could also talk about the geological diversities the islands and its many volcanoes. However what I would like to concentrate on in this article is diving in the Philippines.

Specifically "PADI Open Water Courses" and a small group of diving instructors offering first-class facilities and instruction in the Visayas. Located at the southeast corner of the Island of Negros is the town of Dumaguete.  A short 15 minutes drive outside of Dumaguete is the home base of Liquid. With a small but dedicated team of instructors Liquid dive resort offers a wide range of PADI Open Water Courses, from beginners all the way through to Dive Master Classes.

Managed and owned by a young husband and wife team, Tim and Zoe, the Dive resort in Duain has eight individual bungalows all with beachfront and a landscaped garden. While comfortable, this budget accommodation will give you a relaxing ambience after a good days diving.

As with any dive resort the centerpiece is the lodge and dive shop. As any ardent back packer or diving fanatic will tell you. There is nothing better than sitting with a group of newly found friends sharing a beer or six overlooking a moonlit sea and discussing life's experiences along the way. The family-style meals offer a good opportunity to welcome newcomers and make new friends.

The swimming pool gives younger family members opportunity to gain experience and confidence with snorkel or scuba gear before venturing into open waters.  SCUBA diving in Dauin should be, and is a whole family experience. Supported by a family of diving instructors with years of experience in working with children and adults alike, the liquid resort has to be ranked amongst one of the top value for money diving experiences in the Philippines.

Whatever you are looking for, be it specifically to go scuba diving in Dumaguete, or you wish to partake in a PADI Open Water Course in the Philippines. Liquid has all the information at their fingertips. Contacting them via e-mail telephone of Skype they will be more than happy to discuss with you any of the dive resorts facilities and posibilities of diving.

Must See Travel Attractions in Camiguin

The Philippines is home to some of the world's most beautiful islands. It is the place to be if you're looking for a travel destination that combines unspoiled beauty and old charm. The country boasts of pristine beaches, magnificent mountains and volcanoes, sublime festivals and events, and fun-loving people. All of these features are packed into a small island called Camiguin.

Camiguin is considered the tourism capital of Northern Mindanao. Although it is the second smallest province in the country after Batanes, Camiguin is big in tourist attractions. Travelers can choose from a wide variety of scenic spots from majestic volcanoes, hot springs, and waterfalls to white sand beaches and awesome coral reefs and rock formations.

The province, which can be reached by boat or small plane from Cagayan de Oro, is basically an agricultural-based economy. Its people, the "Camiguingnon," depend on farming and fishing for their livelihood. Visitors in Camiguin are always welcomed with a big smile, giving tourists a sense of comfort and coziness.

Here is a travel guide to some of the must-see attractions in Camiguin, an island "born of fire."

Mt. Hibok-Hibok
Mt. Hibok-Hibok is one of the popular tourist attractions in Camiguin. It is one and the only active volcanoes out of the seven on the island. Mt. Hibok-Hibok, which stands at 1,552 meters above sea level, is popular among local and foreign climbers. Scaling this majestic peak is no easy task though. Hikers must first hurdle loose rocks and boulders before getting their reward – a breathtaking view of the entire island and Bohol.

White Island
Another frequently visited site in Camiguin is the White Island. This white sandbar, also known as Medan Island, provides a picturesque view of Mt. Hibok-Hibok and Mt. Vulcan. Located two kilometers across the Agohay and Yumbing beaches, White Island is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, and seashell collecting. Motorized boats from nearby resorts and vacation rentals take vacationers to this wonderful natural wonder.

Katibawasan Falls
Never leave Camiguin without taking a dip into the crystal clear waters of Katibawasan Falls. Located around five kilometers south of the capital, Mambajao, this natural treasure measures some 250 feet high. Its cool water and green surroundings often come as a welcome relief during hot and humid days. Giant ferns and ground orchids serve as added visual treats for visitors.

Sunken Cemetery
Some might consider the Sunken Cemetery in the municipality of Catarman surreal. But to local residents and most tourists, this landmark is naturally appealing and amazing. The cemetery, which lies 20 feet underwater, can be explored by snorkeling or scuba diving. A huge cross serves as a marker for the site of the remains of a volcanic-triggered tsunami that sank an entire community in 1871.

Lanzonez Festival
Another tourist magnet in Camiguin is the annual Lanzonez Festival. The event is held every third week of October to celebrate a bountiful harvest of lanzonez, a tropical fruit considered the most important source of livelihood in the province. The festival is characterized by a colorful parade and street dancing.

A Tip For Finding Hotels In Boracay That Fit Your Budget And Plans

There are a lot of hotels in Boracay that you can choose from. This is why if you are planning to go on a trip to this beautiful island, you will never run out of options. The good thing is that if you choose a hotel to stay in throughout the duration of your trip, you will get to enjoy your stay in the island.

If you are undecided about where you will be staying, the first thing you should do is to go online and start looking for a good hotel accommodation. The internet is the largest place where you can find a good hotel to stay in. When you do this, you will be able to enjoy your trip.

The many Boracay beach hotels have all been classified depending on price range and class. If you are looking for accommodation that's going to give you first class treatment, I highly suggest that you consider the hotels and resorts that can be found on Station 1. This is the part of the island where the most expensive items can be located. The hotels here are very expensive and can cost you a huge sum of money. This is why you should be careful in making a decision of the hotel you will be choosing to stay in.

For a more affordable hotel, you can look at your options in both Station 2 and 3. Both of these stations can be found just 10 minutes away by foot from the first station. You will get to arrive in your destination in just a few short minutes. This is why many people like going to the island.

Another option that you can choose is to consider the private and more secluded resorts that are found on the other side of the island. You will be able to find a good Boracay holiday resort that's perfect for you if you want to have a good time with someone special.

If your trip to the island is intended to spend your vacation in the island partying, you can choose to stay in the Boracay beach hotels that can be found in Station 2. This is because you will be able to walk to your destination without feeling tired right away. Not to mention, this part of the island is where different restaurants and shops can be found. Since the price range of the hotels here are not as expensive as the ones you can find on Station 1, you get to save your money.

I'm sure you will have a good time with your stay in Boracay. With so many different things to do, you'll always want to return to this island. But before you start your trip, make sure you have a reservation with one of the hotels in Boracay already.
