HELP! I need a wedding package in Guam, Saipan, Bali, Hawaii, Thailand or the Philippines. Recommendations?
My fiance and I would like to get an all-inclusive wedding package in one of the above places. She is from Japan and I'm from Australia. It'll only be a small wedding (her family - 3 people, my family - 3 people and us 2 - 8 in total) We want it to be more a holiday for all rather than a wedding for us. We want a top resort with accomodation for all for 3-4 nights, photographer, music, cake, reception, dinner and for it to be a legally recognised wedding. Somewhere in the vicinity of about $10,000 Australian dollars. Any recommendations would be much appreciated - thank you!!!!
The difficult part might be the "legalized wedding" aspect of it. I married a Thai woman in Thailand, with my marriage recognized in Thailand only, so you would still need to be legally married in the country you plan on staying in for it to be valid (in other words, you might only have a ceremonial wedding in another locale other than where you reside). I still had to go to my respective embassy in Thailand to declare that I was legally allowed to wed, however.
Your money will go a lot farther in Thailand, Phillipines and Bali than it would in Hawaii. I also think the logistics of transporting people back and forth might be better if you stay in the same hemisphere. If you have relatives from Australia, and she has relatives from Japan, meeting somewhere in the "middle" would probably be best (should be a few hour flight from Japan to many of the locations, perhaps a little bit longer because Australia is so far away from many places).
P.S. Congrats!
