Philippine Beach Resort

Why do Filipinos are to much dependent on employment, instead of investment?

We have very big natural resources such as our sea water in our archipelago which is ready for investment like fish culture business, or sea transportation business, beach resorts, etc...
Take a look back to our country , who are the investor in our beautiful resources ? most of them are foreigner.

1. The general pinoy culture of indifference towards savings and investments - most pinoys really have to consider on seriously evaluating their thrift values, financial habits, expense tracking and budget planning. Karamihan kasi kung nagsi save man (not intended on investment) but for lavish celebrations (kasal, binyag, fiesta, etc) and eventually pambili ng expensive items/ luxury (celfones, cars, hi-tech gadgets, etc). The 13th month pay, direcho sa christmas gift shopping and noche buena. If a filipino family has a monthly income na 10thou, spend nila lahat yun, sometimes, utang pa sa neighbor, or request ng salary advance.

2. Financial illiteracy - though some filipinos have the entrepreneurial mindset, still majority of these pinoys simply lack the financial know-how when it comes to the the language of financing and investment. E.g. out of approx 89million filipinos, roughly 400thou lang may account sa Phil. Stocks (and 100thou+ lang dito ang active accounts), as compared sa neighbor countries nati na singapore (33% ng population nila may account sa stock market), Japan (25%), Malaysia (18%), Hongkong (17%), etc.
Some filipinos have the drive to invest, simply di lang alam kung saan and paano, most would invest sa real estate (hich will later on turn out to be a liability-kung mortgaged), and a few sa mga pyramiding feats (naiiscam tuloy).

3. Lack of government support for entrepreneurs -
** sa red tape pa lang ng business licensing ubos na capital ng entrepreneur wannabes,..and dapat may mga tax incentves din especially for smalltime players.
** there should be a government fund where smalltime businessmen pwede makautang with a smaller interest (kung merong man on-going projects na ganito, eh ang hirap mag-avail)
** there should be a solid and sound Investment Program for OFWs - almost half ng pinoy household may OFW na kapamilya, dapat masuposrtahan ng government mga OFWs who'd wanna invest in business dito sa pinas - and nangyayari, pinapadala lahat as remittance dito sa kamag-anak nila, and these people na pinadalhan, di rin alam on how to spend and to invest properly.
