Do you agree that cockfighting should be part of the national heritage of the Philippines?
Rep. Rodolfo Plaza is urging the National Commission for Culture and Arts and the National Historical Institute to declare cockfighting as part of the "intangible Philippine cultural heritage." He further mentioned that even Presidential Decree No. 449, or the Cockfighting Law, recognizes that cockfighting is a vehicle for the preservation and perpetuation of native Filipino heritage that enhances national identity.
However, cockfighting is a sport that is illegal in other countries, specifically the United States, Brazil and in most of Europe.
