Philippine National Holidays

Ramadan, a Muslim holiday, is a Philippine national holiday...?

... but why is Lunar New Year NOT a national holiday, considering that Muslims only comprise 5% of the population while Lunar New Year is celebrated by the country's strong Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and VIetnamese communities who roughly comprise 10% of the Philippine population and produce 75% of its exports?

Honestly?
I think it is a shallow bribe of our christian government to the troubled south. I'd say it is useless. A more substantial effort should be extended to the south other than a holiday named after them.
