Can anyone reccomend a hotel, b+b in Moalboal cebu island?
Im going to cebu for just under 3 weeks and thought rather than just stopping in the city for the whole time, i would check out moalboal for about 3 or 4 days.I was looking at the Tipolo beach resort as the price seems ok £26 per night( $40 us). Is this a good choice or can anyone reccommend anywhere else? and how easy is it to get a bus from cebu to moalboal do you have to book in advance.THANKS 4 ANY INFO
Whats the easiest way to Moalboal without to much hassle????!!!!
There are vans or buses that run down island to Moalboal that you could take but they are often crowded and unsafe. I suggest you take a cab. While you are in the Cebu City area if you find a newer cab and a driver that speaks fairly good English and seems OK ask him if you can rent him for the afternoon to drive you to Moalboal and then pick you up a few days later. I would offer him 3,000 Peso and lunch in Moalboal. If you were to have a girl friend with you much better have her help you chose a cab. Keep in mind many cabs are totally trashed and unsafe even on flat ground. Moalboal is located on the other side of the island over some fairly high mountains so you want to find a good cab and driver.
The dive shops, resorts and bar/restaurant area is on the beach about two clicks from the town of Moalboal.
That area is somewhat infested with transsexuals/transvestites for some strange reason. Don’t let it put you off although some can be aggressive just be polite and they will leave you alone.
The places I like are;
Nelson V. Abenido the owner of Ocean Safari Philippines, a PADI five star dive center. This is one of the oldest dive centers located in Moalboal and the only one 100% Filipino owned. I’ve dived with them for many years now just the best and Nelson is a great divemaster and good person.

Nelsons sister Eve runs a nice resort next to the dive center, Eve's Kiosk. It's inexpensive, quiet and nice and Eve is great too.
