What's popular in beach/resort wear for Men going to Mexico?
We are going to Cancun Mexico in February and don't want to stand out like a sore thumb. I want to look my age (40), but don't want to look like a tourist. I would like input on beach and pool wear along with popular casual wear for around the resort. I guess a mild "hip" look is what I am looking for. I usually wear a baseball cap also. Is there any popular head gear that men are wearing now days? Thanks

Most resort areas in Mexico are quite 'casual'.
Footwear: go with tennis, sneakers or sandals (socks only with trousers). You can buy 'huaraches' (mexican sandals) that are nice, comfortable and fashionable.
Waist down: Comfortable shorts/bermudas are OK; stay away from flowery/colorful designs to avoid a 'tourist look'. Trousers can be used at night or if climate is fresh for you.
Waist up: T-shirts, polo shirts, etc. keep short sleeve. If in Cancun get a 'guayabera'. A jacket will not be required most of the time only the most exclusive restaurants will ask for one. A tie is even more rare.
Head ware: Straw hats are found everywhere, some with nice designs. BB cap os OK but a little touristy.
