Having Philipine Real Estate

Cebu is located 365 miles south of Manila and can be reached in an hour through air travel, it is in the east of Negros Oriental, southwest of Leyte and northwest of Bohol. Strategically located at the heart of the Visayas, it serves as the jump-off points to satellite destinations in the Visayas-Leyte, Samar, Dumaguete and Siquijor and Mindanao islands - Cagayan de Oro, Camiguin and Surigao del Norte. It is positioned as a resort and convention destination.

Beth Collingz, International Marketing Director of PLC Global, the lead marketing partners for Pacific Concord Properties Inc's Lancaster Brand of Condotels in the Philippines said Cebu has a proven capability and economic track record. It is the second largest city and undoubtedly the fastest growing economy in the country. It leads in exports of item such as furniture, fashion accessories, carrageenan, electronic products, etc.

Because of its deep-water harbor, Cebu is the base of the country's domestic shipping. 80% of the country's major shipping companies are based in Cebu. Likewise, with the Mactan Cebu International Airport, Cebu is an accessible gateway to southern Philippines. It allows easy movement of domestic and international travelers and trading connections. Presently, direct flights are available for destinations such as Singapore, Narita, Seoul, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu and Qatar. Chartered flights are also available for Incheon, Kansai, Kaoshiung, Taipei and Nagoya.

Taking advantage of the Real Estate Boom, Collingz said Pacific Concord Properties Inc is expanding its Operations for the Lancaster Brand of Condotels in the Philippines and has acquired by purchase an additional 27 units in its Lancaster Cebu Resort Residences adding another 75M pesos to its project inventory and expansion program. This brings the number of properties held in the development to 75 suites with another 120 units to be added before year end for Condo Hotel rental operations.

Property is all about LOCATION said Collingz. Mactan, Cebu, provides one with both the laid back pace of provincial living, as well as prerequisites of the urban dweller. Schools, hospitals, restaurants, shopping malls, and leisure are all found on the island itself.

Lancaster Cebu Resort Residences, located a mere 3 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, provides you with easy access to all the essentials of urban living. This ideal location will complement the Condotel operation since Lancaster Cebu will function as a condominium hotel - a preferred accommodation choice of businessmen and holiday travelers alike. Can you drive from Cebu City to Carigara, Leyte in the Philippines?

If so how long will the drive take and will you need to stop and stay in a hotel overnight?
Or what is the best way to transport a car purchased in Cebu to Carigara or Tacloban City?

You have at least 3 choices from Cebu City to Carigara. You will not need to stay overnight.

Cebu City to Ormoc City
Not really worth considering due to the cost. I believe it can cost up to P10,000 on this route. The boat ride will be about 5 hours then it is about 90 minutes to Carigara from Ormoc City. No need to turn off, it is a direct road from Ormoc City to Carigara. I have travelled on the RORO from Cebu City to Ormoc City but have not taken a car.

Bogo to Palompon
A previous poster mentioned 3 times per week to Palompon. I think what he really means is the Cebu City to Manila bus is 3 times per week. The RORO from Bogo to Palompon is every day. It leaves Bogo about 12 noon. It will take you up to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic from Cebu City to to the far side of Bogo for the RORO. Then the RORO is about 2.5 hours. Then the trip from Palompon to Carigara is up to 2 hours, via Villaba and Kananga. I have travelled on this RORO too but have not taken a car. I have travelled from Palompon to Tacloban via Carigara many times.

Danao to Isabel
This is the most common route. There is a morning and evening RORO. If the car is a Suzuki Scrum, it will cost at most P2,500 to transport it on the RORO. I have a friend with a heavier car who told me his car cost P2500 about 1 month ago. The trip to the pier in Danao, which is really closer to Carmen than Danao will take about 1 hour, maybe 90 minutes, depending on traffic. I don't know the crossing time. My furniture has crossed over on this RORO but I haven't. Expect about 3 to 4 hours. From Isabel, you will have about 40 minute trip to the turn off near Ormoc City then about 90 minutes from the turn off to Carigara. I have travelled from Isabel to Ormoc City many times.

I hope this helps!
