Can a foreigner get Philippine citizenship by marrying a filipino?
I've been having a hard time finding information on this.
I am an American and next year I will be marrying my fiancée, who is Filipino. We were planning on me living in the Philippines with him. Would me marrying him, give me Philippine citizenship, or do I still need to get some kind of visa?
I am thinking you question isn't as deep as people are answering below, because you might not want to immediately become a Citizen. No you will not automatically become a Filipino citizen.
The only benefit to being a citizen is that you can own land that you pay for, otherwise it will be in your husbands name with you as his spouse. Otherwise, this is such an open country that you will feel like a citizen just being in his hometown with his family. Philippines is a beautiful place.

When you are married to a Filipino, you ( and your children ) automatically get a 1 year Balikbayan visa at the airport. It is NOT multiple entry, and you can only get it when travelling together with your Filipino spouse. You get a new one each time you enter together. Even your husband is travelling on a US passport, he just needs his NSO certified birth certificate or Philippine passport ( even expired ) and you need your marriage certificate. You also need to ask at the immigration desk or they will just give you the 21 day visa.
And I think you also have to eat Chicken Joy or Yum with Cheese ( burger ) at Jollibee at least once a week to become a citizen.
