Visiting Canada (tourist)?

my family and i have been given a gift by my aunt (80 years old, leaves w/ us here in Manila) to visit vancouver this whole month of May '08. airfare and pocket money will be provided. full board and lodging will also be provided by our relatives there. Aside from the requirements by the Canadian Embassy here in Manila, are there any other supporting docs that we need to present together w/ our application to convince the embassy that we are really coming back to the Philippines after a month? My husband and I both have a job here and we have 3 children below 8 years old. Hope someone could give me an expert advise....tips...thanks!

The Canadian immigration site is the one your really need to check. It has tons of information. You will need a visa, but the embassy staff would have told you that and the process for obtaining one. There is really nothing else you need to do other than what the embassy has told you.

The letter of invitation the previous poster mentioned is very important. The letter should be notarized just in case there is any question, and you use this letter when you apply for your visa. The format for the letter is at the second link - your relative in Canada should use this as a guide in writing the letter.

Also present the details of your work life when you apply for your visa and the details of the family that will be staying behind in the Philippines. You may need to provide proof that you are financially solvent.

Best of luck, and enjoy your time in Canada.
