Cebu is considered one of the most happening places in Philippines, offering fun, relaxation and socialization to the tourists who come here and stay in the amazing Cebu hotels to enjoy a memorable vacation. It is a lively place with a range of places to go out, eat and have fun.

1. Magellan's Cross: This is the most famous landmark in Cebu and it is the location where the first Filipinos received their Christian Faith. This also has the first cross given to the Filipinos by the Spaniards. During the 18th century, people started breaking and taking chips from the cross believing it had miraculous powers. The remains of the original cross was later encased in a hollow 18-foot of tindal wood cross and placed in a small chapel in front of the Cebu City Hall.

2. Sto Niño de Basilica: This church is one of the most historical churches and the oldest Roman Catholic church in the Philippines. Built in the 16th century, this church preserves the oldest sculpture of Jesus Christ as a child. There is a museum inside which displays various religious statues, ancient relics like ancient furniture, vestments etc. Devotees come here to pray.

3. Fort San Pedro: This is the oldest and smallest fort in the Philippines. Triangular in shape with two sides overlooking the sea and the third side facing the city, the fort was built by Spaniards to defend themselves from the foreign invaders. The fort has now been transformed into a museum, displaying Spanish artifacts, paintings, sculptures, fragments of headgear, swords and other weapons. There are around 14 cannons housed here.

4. Taoist Temple: The temple is home to the teachings of Lao-Tse, the 600 B.C. Chinese philosopher. There are some 81 steps representing the 81 chapters of the Taoism scriptures. On reaching the top of the stairs, tourists can light joss sticks and take in the peace of the place. The Temple offers a quiet break from the hustle and bustle of down town Cebu.

5. Mactan: Mactan is another part of Cebu, separated from the main island. There are two "Mactan Bridges" to connect Mactan to the main island of Cebu. Mactan has lots of marvellous beach resorts, such as Maribago Bluewaters, Cebu Beach Club, Shang ri la, Imperial Palace, Plantation Bay, and Portofino.

6. Kawasan Falls: This is a well-preserved fresh water fall. You can move around the very deep water, or allow yourself to let the waters from the mountain drop heavily at you.

7. Camotes Island and Bantayan Island: There are a couple of places in Camotes Island that are breathtaking. Examples of these are the Lake Danao, Guadalupe Cave, Santiago Beach Resort, and Mangodlong Beach Resort. Bantayan is a divine place to be. There are nearby stores where you can shop, and nearby bars where you can hang out with friends.

8. Lapu Lapu Monument (Mactan Shrine): Located at the site where Lapu-Lapu's warriors defeated the troops of Ferdinand Magellan in a battle in 1521, this was where the explorer, Ferdinand Magellan was killed. Here tourists can see a depiction of the battle, a statue of Lapu-lapu erected by Filipinos and a monument to Ferdinand Magellan erected in the nineteenth century.

9. Moalboal Basdaku Beach: This is a quiet beach with clean water. The corals and fish are very beautiful here.

10. Mountain View: Cebu is a mountainous place and tourists can go up to the mountains and witness a breathtaking view of the town below. Mountain View is well developed to suit one's need to hang out with friends or family. It is facilitated with play grounds, swimming pool, benches, and various spots to just sit and talk while enjoying the view.
Apart from the above mentioned, Cebu has a host of night-outs and bars. Handuraw and The Outpost are places where music and art are showcased. There are quite a few restaurants and hotels in Cebu which provide amazing food and entertainment for the visiting tourists.
