Our son got married in cancun at the Palace Resort last year and it was great.In Mexico you can't get married on the beach but tey have 2 gazebos on the beach and it was so pretty.Start early working with their staff no matter where you go because the paper work for license is a bit daunting. You have to use their officate but he was really great and did alovely ceremony and they don't make it religious just so you know.The staff did everything they were suppose to.They Oh I forgotoffer a caarriage too.The photographer was good and we have lovely pictures.Congratulations, I hope this helped.Oh I forgot, the rooma re the nicest we have ever stayed in and I go to mexico every year .A nice jacuzzui in every roon and great bathroom.I like the Rui in Puerto Vallarta too.Never done a wedding there but have seen several there but their gazebo is not on the beach.

What are the best ammenities for a resort?

What is the best resort, hotel, or bed and breakfast that you have been to, and why? What ammenities did they have that you loved the most?
I ask this because I want to run my home like a vacation resort. :)

I've been to way too many resorts that I have loved to list them all. To me, the most important part of a resort is the service. If the staff is helpful, and willing to help, the place is clean and everybody is friendly, then I am happy.

Also, some good room service or a nice restaraunt in the hotel is always great as well. Sometimes you just don't feel like going out and that is very nice to have.

But I really just look for some place that is clean and everyone is friendly and helpful. Then I'm happy ;-)

Best, Affordable Hotels/Resorts in Puerto Vallarta?

I have been to Puerto Vallarta atleast 7 times so I know all the zones, clubs, best restaraunts, etc, but that was because my family used to own a condo there....unfortunately we sold it, but I still want to go back this spring break. Since i've never stayed in a hotel in puerto vallarta I don't know which ones are the best or most affordable. I've been to the westin for nikki beach and Dreams for lunch but I know those are too expensive. I'm looking at around $150 per night....Only hotel that is worth staying at for this price range is the Holiday Inn in the hotel zone. Does anyone know of any others?

"For a luxury hotel to qualify as such, the physical product is of primary consideration-from the size of the rooms, the quality of the linens to the staff-to-room ratio," he says.

Although none of Manila's finest can rival the Burj's 780-square meter Royal Suite, top hotels like the Makati Shangri-la do provide ample frills for the discriminating dons.

Makati Shangri-la's majestic main hall opens to a verdant oasis, and guests sipping the hotel's famed Filipino high tea are serenaded by a live orchestra. Flambe carts, crystal chandeliers and Wedgwood china invoke old world glamour, while the staff, clad in a Rajo Laurel creation handing out mother- of-pearl inlaid menus, suggest classic Filipino charm.

Past the elevators, top-end guests can expect nothing less than rich upholstery, flat-screen entertainment systems, well-partitioned rooms and fully stocked kitchenettes. Peninsula Manila's Peninsula Suite boasts of Pre-Raphaelites-style frescos, a sun-soaked solarium, wood paneled dining room and a private library, along with separate sleeping quarters for the valet and direct access to the hotel's helipad.

Beyond the usual room service and mini bar affair, the country's choice hotels have been careful to cater to the visitor's varying palates, hiring international chefs to spice up their kitchens.

Makati Shangri-la's chic Red Restaurant has a regal menu and close to 200 premium wines on list for cosmopolitan fine-dining, while the hotel's Cantonese themed Shang Palace and classic Japanese resto Inagiku provide regional alternatives for the global guest mix.

Theater kitchen gets standing ovation at Peninsula Manila's Spices, where the varying cuisines of India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China and the Philippines are tempered by Asian objets d'art and paintings by famous Filipino expressionist Ang Kiukok.

For the globe-trotting businessman, local hit hotels have dedicated business centers, each equipped with boardrooms, communications facilities, courier and secretarial services, and a technical concierge. Makati Shangri-la's Horizon floor even has complimentary buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails on offer in its exclusive club lounge.
