Scuba Diving Safety - A guide on how to conduct safe scuba practices

<!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } A:link { so-language: zxx } -->

Scuba diving can be one of the most enjoyable recreational sports you will ever make. However, before you start getting all excited about scuba, you have to be very well aware that scuba diving does carry its own risks.

Diving related accidents resulting in death or serious injuries are not all that rare. You may hear every now and again of such unfortunate incidents in which a diver looses his life. It makes you want to stop and think.

However, this should not stop you from a giving it a try. With proper care and caution, scuba diving can be a very relaxing sport. There are kids and elderly alike that enjoy this pastime without loosing their lives. Let me put this into context. Scuba diving is no more dangerous than driving a motorcycle. In fact I dare to say that today, it is more dangerous riding a motorcycle in a quiet street. But that does not stop bikers from getting on the road and enjoying their machine.

Firstly let us take a look as to why most scuba diving accidents occur. Well, according to statistics, most scuba diving deaths occur to divers who are not properly trained. Either due to not knowing how to operate their scuba equipment or because of a lack of understanding on the effects of scuba diving in deep water.

The first step you should need to do even before buying your own equipment is to get certified with a reputable certifying agency. Do not opt to get trained by a friend or a relative who is not a a certified scuba instructor. Instructors are highly qualified in specialized training and skill and will provide you with the necessary scuba skills which you will not get through an unqualified person.

Physical health is another important factor. Scuba diving is a very strenuous sport. Scuba fatalities from heart or circulatory problems account for about a quarter of all scuba diving deaths. Although you do not need to be a world class athlete, You should be healthy enough to take on the physical stresses associated to scuba diving. If you are in doubt of your physical capabilities, it would be wise to undertake a physical exam before a dive.

One of the most crucial scuba diving safety rules is - never dive on your own. No matter what level of expertise you have, you should always dive with a buddy. Help given underwater even in the simplest form can make all the different between life or death. Besides it is more enjoyable to have someone to share your diving experience with rather than diving on your own.

Always go down with someone who has far more experience than you. This is especially the case if you are a beginner to scuba diving. Two or more beginner scuba divers going on their own is an ingredient for disaster. Get the necessary skills by learning from other who are more proficient. Notice the way they fin underwater, how far more relaxed and delicate their movements seem to be. Become an active diver. If you were to dive frequently, you will maintain your proficiency and will gradually build up your experiences and capabilities.

Many divers risk their lives by overlooking certain risks. Over-confident divers may stray away from their dive plan to explore an underwater cave. This risk can easily be avoided if the dive plan is maintained. Never stray away from the dive plan.

Remember that you are a guest in the underwater environment which is alien to the world you are normally accustomed to... There are many factors that can lead to dangerous situations. Therefore you have to always be aware of your surroundings and be prepared to react when caught up in a dangerous situation.

A key in scuba diving safety is to continue your diving eduction. A good diver will never stop learning. There are so many things to learn about which will give you the necessary confidence in scuba diving. It is therefore essential that you maintain your scuba skills by diving frequently.

The most important factor when it comes to scuba diving safety is that you take proper care of the equipment which is taking care of you when you are underwater. Service your scuba diving equipment at least annually and maintain your gear in good condition. If you own scuba tanks then it is best to pressure tested them every 5 years.

For a detailed check list on scuba diving safety, check out our scuba diving safety rules at http://Scuba-Snorkeling-Adventures.com/scuba-diving-safety-rules.html. These checklists consist of important scuba diving rules which will ensure that you maintain your safety before and during your dives.

Why Philippines Girls Are Raised To Have Strong Moral Values?

The accepted term for Philippines girls is Filipinas. Females in this country have high moral and social values. Most are extremely well educated and obtaining a degree is something they strive for. They are encouraged, from a very young age, to perform well at school. It may surprise you to know that female enrollment at Philippine universities exceeds male enrollment.

This is the only Far East nation where Christianity is the mainstream religion. More than 80 percent of the people are Roman Catholic. Strong religious doctrines are taught to children and they are taken to church when they are very young. It is compulsory for Filipinas to be married in a Christian church.

Despite what many believe, Philippine women are not submissive. Perhaps the fact that they are polite and gently spoken makes people think otherwise. Most Filipinas are non-confrontational, understanding, and patient. They have been taught to behave in a lady-like fashion at all times.

Equally untrue is the myth that Philippines girls think they are inferior to men. As mentioned earlier, numerous women have graduated from university and have successful business careers. Furthermore, they do not feel bad if they earn a higher salary than a husband. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that a wife will put all her husband's needs and wishes first. Nevertheless, they are loving, caring, faithful and loyal wives.

Divorce is essentially illegal in the Philippines because marriage is believed to be a sanctimonious institution. As such, wives will do everything in their power to maintain stable and loving marriages. They are even prepared to forfeit their careers if necessary.

Even in the toughest of times, a Philippine woman will stand by and support her husband. However, if he is violent or abusive to her, she will have no hesitation in filing for an annulment. In such cases, there is a Family Code which enables a woman to apply for her marriage to be annulled. This would only be a last resort.

Philippines girls grow up to be good home-keepers and wonderful mothers. They are dedicated to teaching their children the same core values that they learnt as youngsters. You will find a Filipina's home tidy and clean with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Many are attracted to older men when looking for a husband because they offer financial security, are more mature, and unlikely to have an affair. In 40 percent of marriages, husbands are 10 years older than their wives.

puerto galera in philippines_2"puerto galera in philippines"
Okay,so i'm going to Puerto Galera,Philippines.I need infos to those who went there?help will be appreciated.

give me like, places to visit, good hotels, and other comments.i'm really bored here in my home, and that's the only place i can go this summer(in my location),because later i'll have to study for college entrance exams.. :((

I also reccomend going to White Beach. I went last weekend, took a bus from Manila (2.5 hrs, 145 pesos but terrible traffic) and a boat from Batangas (280 pesos, 2 hours).
The other guy is right though, White Beach is very local, but very beutiful. I stayed four nights for 3,200 pesos, and for my entire trip only spendt 8,000 pesos including shopping.
There IS diving, although probably not as good as Northern Mindoro.

Did a tsunami sweep through Davao, Philippines?

I would like to know about the area near the Marco Polo Hotel and the Gaisano Mall, please.
Does anyone have any news?

There is nothing about this anywhere on the internet so far, although a 6.4 earthquake struck Taiwan not too long ago so I suppose there could be repercussions from that. Nothing official from what I have seen, though.

Dive Galapagos - Visibility SUCKS when Diving the Galapagos

Dive Galapagos - Visibility SUCKS when Diving the Galapagos

Now if you're used to diving in a Quarry Pit, or a Lake, or Ocean where the visibility is not so good, then you're going to be right at home if you decide to dive the Galapagos cause the VISABILITY SUCKS in the Galapagos. Ok maybe it's not quite the same as diving in your local quarry pit, but the reason visibility is so bad when you dive the Galapagos, is because there is just so many fish it's really quite unreal.

The abundance of fish life you will see when you dive the Galapagos, is phenomenal and the variety is also extreme,  on many occasions you are engulfed in shoals of fish that take the visibility down to  just few feet as you are engulfed in fish life, as you swim out of the shoal you are met with the more normal 60-120ft viz depending on the area of the Galapagos you are diving

If you have never been Diving Galapagos, then you are in for a real treat. Diving the Galapagos is considered by all divers that have dove there, to be the best diving in the world for big marine life and the author wholeheartedly agrees in the assessment that when you Dive the Galapagos you will be diving on one of the best locations on Earth.

Dive Galapagos – Disney Land For Divers

So what is a typical dive like when you Dive Galapagos? First off the life on the surface of the water is very active and it is not untypical to see Dolphins jumping, Sea birds diving into the water after the shoals of fish that have been chased to the surface by underwater predators. You can also see Turtles surfacing to take a breath before descending back into the depths and all this before you have even descended.

Once under the water it is literally Disneyland for Divers, a wondrous place where you just don't know where to look first. The waters are teeming with life from the moment you slip under the water you will see hundreds of Sharks patrolling the waters looking for their next meal, you will see Turtles which are abundant, on multiple occasions you will bump into a pod of Dolphins that quickly comes in for an inspection of the strange looking creatures flailing about underwater. And then there are the Big Daddy's that are spotted on a very regular basis when diving the Galapagos, such as the huge Pacific Manta Rays, and their smaller cousins the Modula Rays. Manta Rays can reach a massive size, and many times the only way you know they are there, is the light suddenly dims as a massive Manta Ray flies over the top of you blocking the sunlight for a few seconds, making you look up. Then there are the Mobula Rays that are about 12-14 wingspan, they travel in groups just like a squadron of jet fighters flying by in formation, swimming  very close and circling the divers before swimming off.

Then there is grand daddy of them all, the largest fish in the sea ,the mighty Whale Shark. Whale Sharks can grow to over 40ft in length and are abundant in the Galapagos and if you have never dove with a Whale Shark your chances are very high that you will see your first one on your dive trip to Dive the Galapagos.

In late fall this is the best time to Dive Galapagos and see Whale sharks and on many many occasions dive trips have seen up to 24 Whale Sharks per 5-7 day Liveboard charter adventure.

Dive Galapagos – Required Diving For Every Diver

Diving Galapagos Islands is the Mecca for divers, and as a Muslim is required to make the pilgrimage to Mecca once in their life you as a diver should also make the pilgrimage to Dive Galapagos at least once in your life, do whatever you have to, to get there, Sell your Granny, sell the Car, dance naked in your local Mall for tips, whatever it takes to raise the funds for this trip of a lifetime. It will be worth every single cent and will be the very best dive trip you ever take, GUARANTEED

Scuba Diving Operators

scuba diving operators_2"scuba diving operators"
Any recommendations for where a young singleton can learn to Scuba Dive abroad?

With some holiday days left I thought I might learn to scuba dive (this year) and take a holiday at the same time. But as everyone I know is broke or busy and I'll most likely be on my own I would rather go with an operator / outfit that's reasonably hip. Whilst a mixed crowd is fine I don't really want to end up on a trip with all families / elderly / couples and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good scuba outfit with this is mind?
Cheers

The social side to the sport more or less includes families so it will be difficult to find an exclusively singles outfit just by checking individual shops, you'll just luck out if you do get on a course consisting solely of hip singles. You could on the other hand, check here:
http://www.singledivers.com/
which is a site deicated to singles diving. There's a few other sites similar, that offer vacation packages and will set up room mates. I'm unsure if they have any packages for open water students.
Probably the number one destination that has what you're looking for, is Thailand. Many dive shops and areas to choose from. Phuket in particular.
I'm curious though. You could do this course or at least a majority of it at home. Even if you only did the academics, you'd save some of your vacation time for actual diving. PADI has a referral program that allows you to do your schoolwork at home and the certification dives at your vacation destination. I'm not a big fan of this, since you're learning in an easier environment as a rule, but at least it would maximize your vacation time. The better route would be to do all of it at home in what's probably a tougher environment but teaching you a few things you'd not learn in a warm water environment and having that entire vacation time open to diving instead of stuck in class. I can understand that some people just don't want to set foot in colder water period but by doing at least the academics at home you could skip to the fun stuff right off the bat.

Where can I see some awesome cliff diving in Maui?

The Sheraton Maui Resort cliff dive ceremony doesn't look too impressive. I'm looking for the professional stuff. Cliffs hundreds of feet tall.

You're not going to find "awesome" cliff diving in Maui. I recommend you venture to Italy or Acapulco. The World Cliff Diving Championships alternate between these two sites every year. Not only are the cliffs "hundreds of feet tall" as you put it, but the divers are the best from their respective countries.

Philippine Island

Short History Of Philippines Literature

Philippine is an island country situated in Southeast Asia along the Philippine Sea, Sulu Sea, Celebes Sea and South China Sea. The language spoken by the people is known as Tagalog. The islands were a Spanish colony from the early 1500s. The US controlled the islands in the early 20th century. Philippines is the 11th most populated country of the world.

The Philippine islands have a rich oral history of legends, poetry and tales which is common with other aboriginal societies. Unfortunately, a lot is not known among urban inhabitants and the older generations have retained them in most cases who are the subject of an anxious project by universities and cultural awareness groups.

Legends were brought with the Taiwanese settlers, it was the first homeland from the Austronesian people. The old stories of heroes and gods are shared in many parts with the stories that are familiar for the people of Indonesia, Pacific islands, Madagascar and New Zealand. However, Philippines have been settled for a mot longer time that allowed home grown versions to develop. The story of monkey and turtle is a favorite tale with the Philippine children. The moral of the story was that one should always share everything with friends. This is a defining nature of Filipinos.

Written literature existed prior to the start of Spanish colonial period. Spain was however gripped by inquisition and the church passed a decree that the existing Philippines records should be destroyed including unique Philippine alphabets. They were all to be replaced by Catholic teachings in Spanish only.

Baybayin was the only surviving documents written in tagalong alphabets. The written form literature in Philippines is only known from times of the colonial period. Most of the works written in those periods were religious praising the Christianity to the population that was previously following polytheism.

Poems were energetically encouraged that could be read or used in church or local festivals. A poem written by Fernando Bagonbanta in 1605 contained many lyrics that could be sung. In 1705, Gaspar Aquino de Belen wrote quintillas in succession that were more serious as compared to Bagonbanta. Philippines still use them today.

Since the first half of 20th century, many poetry and literature of Philippines was written in Spanish. Tagalog was frowned as the base language not capable of great works. Francisco Balagtas was one of the greatest writers of Philippines. He was a man compared with William Shakespeare for his deep nature of works. Florante at Laura was his greatest work written in Tagalog. It is about a man and woman during the times of Greek Empire.

José Rizal was the Philippine national hero and is considered the father of native Philippine literature. His works were also published in Spanish language. José Rizal was not only revolutionary but he was also very intelligent. For him, Philippine independence was very important for survival of Tagalog language.

Jozé Rizal was a source of inspiration for many Filipinos. He was also a model for civilized living. He had also studied Philosophy and Medicine and he was awarded many degrees from several European universities. Rizal also spoke 22 languages. Unfortunately, his works on literature were limited to only two novels. The second one was a sequel owing to his execution by firing squad in 1896 at the age of 35 after being convicted of up roaring revolutionary ideas. Philippines came under US control after Rizal's death. It was later associated with the US as a Commonwealth. The chosen language of the early 20th century was Spanish.

English became the preferred language of literature by the start of World War II. There was a brief flirtation with writing Tagalog during the Japanese occupation as Japanese forces were suspicious that Philippine spies would use English for passing secret messages to US forces.

On the contrary, writing in English allowed Philippine authors to successfully expand their horizons having their writing published globally. Several awards are offered annually that recognize the excellence.
