What are the top Philippines travel destinations this 2009?
Baguio City is celebrating its Centennial Year this 2009 with a better Flower Festival in February and a grandiose celebration marking its 100th year in September 1.
Tubbataha Reef has Tubbataha Reef Liveaboard 2009 in April.
Aside from the above-mentioned, in what other places can we enjoin fellow Pinoys, here and abroad, and foreign friends to visit in the Philippines this 2009?
The top destination outside of Manila will still be most likely Boracay. Because there is none like it, not even Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte.
The second hottest destination now is Bohol, or so I am told by friends in the tourism business. Palawan, especially Coron always make it to the list, but numbers-wise can not be THE top destination because while facilities are excellent, there are not enough rooms. They are also on the high-end.
Among locals, top destinations, aside from those above, continue to be Baguio (they feel like they are in a foreign country) and Tagaytay (cool weather, and quite near).
Nearer destinations for beach bums are Anilao and Nasugbu. For family R&R there is always Subic, with Ocean Adventure and Zoobic safari as top draws. Clark is also another excellent R&R, and the SCTEX makes Clark an Subic feel like one destination.
For the mountain and earth people, there is always Mt Apo, Mt Pulag, Banaue, and the caves in Sagada.
And for the shoppers, there is the nearby Mall of Asia.
