what is the best currency for me to take to the Philippines for holiday?I can only take a small amount of PHP?
Should I take US Dollars or Sterling?
Don't worry if you don't have enough Philippine pesos when you arrive for the first time. All you need to do is go to the nearest bank near your hotel where your US dollars will be exchanged for the local currency. The hotels also have their Foreign Exchange counter. Or you can exchange your sterling/pounds at the many foreign currency money changers.
If you intend to go to the cities, there should be no problem as the banks will readily service your needs if you have US dollars. In the more remote areas, just make sure that you bring cash with you because credit cards are not at all accepted.
I strongly suggest you bring US dollars as they are easier to exchange everywhere. And as much as possible, exchange these at the banks, not the money changers because I do not want you getting duped by disreputable ones.
