Beaches in Sentosa
Derived from the Malay meaning of peace and tranquility – Sentosa is a beautiful island resort located in Singapore. Every year millions of people flock to its stretch of 2km beach to have some fun in the sun. Away from the hectic city life, this southern coastline operates to a different way of life. Here, the coast has been revamped into three beaches of which the central beach is more popular among families with children. There are many facilities on offer at the beaches including activities like aqua bikes and pedal boats. The Tanjong Beach is the most frequented beach for sun worshippers who want a bit of quiet time soaking up the sun. The Tanjong Beach is crescent shaped and is often the central venue of special beach parties. The popular KM8 bar located on the beach which closed recently had its farewell, right on this beach. The Siloso beach on the other hand is used mainly by guests of hotels and resorts along the beaches closeby. The Siloso is also popular among crowds that like to party till dawn as the beach pubs are also a popular attraction, bringing in crowds of youngsters. The services at this beach are brilliant .They include facilities like mini eateries, bicycle kiosks, showers and snack bars line the greater part of the beach. Sentosa’s beaches although beautiful is actually man made, and has been created by dumping great mounds of sand purchased from countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. The Palawan beach unlike the others is found towards Sentosa’s southern coast. On this beach there is a bridge that leads to an island which Singaporeans claims as Asia’s closest access point to the equator. The Sentosa Express, which is the beach station situated on the Palawana beach is for the convenience of its many commuters. Tourists who pay a visit to the Sentosa island resort will definitely not want to return home without a stay at a Sentosa island hotel. The island has many resorts to choose from, offering typical luxury resort facilities and services.
