Does a Filipino student need a visa for a South Korea tour?

Hello, I've searched the net about this but I'm kinda confuse since some posted that there is no need to, then no need to if it's less than 59 days then some say it is needed. .If it is then, since the Korean embassy is not in our place, is it okay if I do not need an appearance for the VISA application only our travel agent would arrange it.. would that be okay or not?

Philippine passport holders NEED VISA to enter South Korea. Some countries like US (citizens) don't need to apply for a visa prior to entering Korea, they will be just allowed to enter for visit or tour.

Personal appearance is not required to apply for a visa.
Once you have all your documents, the visa process itself takes only 1 week.
Requirement Documents for Tourist's Visa to Korea for Philippine passport holders:
1. Application form (available at website or at the embassy)
2. One passport size colored picture
3. Passport Original
4. Passport photocopy of First Page (valid 6mos)
5. Copy of U.S., New Zealand, Japan, Australia, Korea, and Canada Visa (if available)
6. Employment Certificate (Original) -
7. Personal Bank Certificate(Original) -
8. ITR (Income Tax Return) (photocopy) -

*If Personally invited to Korea: Original Invitation Letter in Korea & photocopy of the Invitor’s Passport

** For students, they can use their parent's Employment Cert, Bank Cert, and ITR. Also show copy of Sch registration and maybe birth cert to prove your relationship to the owner of ITR etc.
