Laguna Islands Philippines, "Resort Province of the Philippines", is a haven of fresh and pristine bodies of water such as springs, lakes and waterfalls. The biggest is Pagsanjan Falls, formerly known as Magdapio Falls, hereinafter referred to as' Shooting the rapids ". It is located in the city Cavinti Pagsanjan. The second is the Caliraya lake, which lies between the Lumban and Cavinti. A mountain breeze strong that it blows from the Sierra Madre mountains and the distant Mount Banahaw makes the lake an ideal place for water sports like windsurfing, water skiing, sailing and fishing. Laguna de Bay, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake , will remain intact throughout the year due to regular rains.

Numerous hot springs are rich in the province, including the famous springs Hidden Valley which is located in a secluded part of Alaminos town. The trip Dalitiwan River in Botocan, Majayjay, is an exciting adventure because the terrain is rugged and mountainous and the cold water of the river gushes through the rocks and gullies  with strong currents. The mystical Mt. Makiling in Los Baños is an inactive volcano, which rises about 1109 meters above sea level. In fact, it has a natural beauty, making it ideal place for any kind of intervention for hiking, bird and butterfly watching and even camping.

Laguna is not only equipped with natural wonders. It also plays an important role in history as the birthplace of Dr. Jose Rizal, national hero of the country, whose childhood and early manhood were spent in the towns of Calamba and Biñan. A number of churches of Spanish-influenced architecture in the Romanesque and Baroque design now mainly restored to their original elegance are also present in the province.

The province is the showcase for the Southern Tagalog craftsmanship. Paet city is famous for its papier mache, woodcarvings, handmade paper and seed products.Tree, Sampaguita flowers, orchids and exotic plants are big business. Cut flower farms are found mainly in the cities of Calamba, Los Baños, and Bay. Sweet tropical fruits are plentiful such as Lanzones from of Paete, pineapple from Calau, chico, banana, mango, rambutan, and avocado. Add to these Laguna embroidered apparel. Cloth made from banana fibers which are carefully, though cleverly transformed into beautiful pieces of clothing worthy of being adapted into the national costume of the Philippines, the Barong Tagalog. Abaca hemp-made shoes is a growing industry in the city of Liliw.

Because of its proximity to Manila, Laguna is presently becoming the center of economic activity in the region of Southern Tagalog and the Calabarzon area. Business in the area is busy as indicated by the presence of several industrial estates designed for handling large firms engaged in textile manufacturing, electronics, industrial machinery, food processing, and automotive assembly.
